Biography
Melissa Roxburgh is the second oldest among her siblings. She has two sisters named Kristie and Ashley, and a younger brother named Matt. Her dad, Cam, is a Canadian pastor, and her mom, Shelley Walpole, used to play tennis professionally. They moved to Canada from the United States and started a church in Vancouver. Roxburgh went to high school and later decided to become an actress in Vancouver. She studied at the William Esper Studio.
Family
Melissa Roxburgh loves to travel and has visited Africa, Europe, and South America with her family. These trips sparked her interest in helping people and making the world a better place. She now serves as a GenR Leader for the International Rescue Committee, an organization that helps people facing serious problems.
Before acting on Manifest, she studied Communications at Simon Fraser University with dreams of becoming a journalist. In 2018, she started dating her co-worker J.R. Ramirez, whom she met on the set of Manifest. Although they briefly broke up in 2021, they got back together in 2022.
Career
Melissa Roxburgh got her first important role in the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, where she played the character Rachel. She also appeared in the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, Dog Days, but this time as a different character called Heather Hills. She has acted in other films like Big Time Movie, Leprechaun: Origins, and Star Trek Beyond. On TV, she was in a show called Bloodlines and also played Thea in the series Valor.
She currently stars as Michaela Stone in the NBC series Manifest, which started in 2018. Manifest will have a fourth and final season on Netflix. In 2022, she starred in the movie Mindcage, playing the detective Mary Kelly, alongside actors Martin Lawrence and John Malkovich.
