Linda Evangelista is a famous Canadian fashion model who was one of the top supermodels in the 1990s. She is considered one of the most successful and influential models ever. She has graced the covers of over 700 magazines. Evangelista is well-known for being the favorite subject of photographer Steven Meisel and for popularizing the phrase “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day”. She holds the record for appearing multiple times on the cover of Vogue Italia, all captured by Meisel.

When Linda Evangelista was a teenager, she started doing modeling in her hometown. In 1981, she participated in a beauty pageant called Miss Teen Niagara, although she didn’t win. However, someone from Elite Model Management noticed her and thought she had potential.

At 16 years old, she traveled to Japan for modeling work, but she had a bad experience where she was asked to pose without clothes. This made her feel uncomfortable, and she wanted to quit modeling. In 2006, Evangelista was featured on the cover of a book called “In Vogue: The Illustrated History of the World’s Most Famous Fashion Magazine.” She appeared alongside model Kristen McMenamy, and the photo was taken by Steven Meisel. In August of the same year, Evangelista became the first model in over a year to grace the cover of Vogue magazine.

Her last time walking the runway was in 2007 when she participated in the 60th anniversary fashion show for Christian Dior. During that year, she also signed a special contract to be the brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris, a popular cosmetics company.
